What I ended up deciding to do for Grandparent's Day...

I decided what I am going to do! I am going to make cream cheese filled snickerdoodles for all of Baby B's grandparents and great-grandparents. (Recipe found here) On top of them I am going to put a card and this little tag I made copying the one here. Trying to get his fingerprints was a little crazy so they are kinda crooked and all different sizes. :) He sure thought it was fun though!

Then I decided to make a little scrapbook book with a picture and fingerprint each year. Each year I will make a new page to add to their book. I was posting this so readers could see before tomorrow so I haven't got his fingerprint on it yet...

I didn't want to leave out last year so I added a picture and made it the cover. I won't have a fingerprint of last year but at least the book will have each year...

Then I am going to punch a hole in the top left corner and put them all on the ring.

Not anything huge but I think they will like it. I think it will be fun to look back at his fingerprints each year.

First time riding a horse....

The other day was Baby B's first time riding a horse. I wasn't sure whether or not he would like it. A few times we have held onto him and set him on our horses back and he hasn't really liked it. Well needless to say, riding with dad, he loved it!! He did not want to get off. And every time the horse stopped moving he would get mad, wanting it to go again. My husband and I both grew up riding horses so I'm glad Baby B likes it!

Sock Monkey Birthday Party

Baby B turned 1 on the 19th! It waa such a fun day! I'm finally getting to posting his birthday party... It was so much fun! I did it sock monkey themed.

I made cupcakes with red and yellow pinwheels. I did everything brown, tan, red and yellow.

His monkey cake. :) Fun but more time consuming than I thought it would be. It was still fun!

We ended up doing an ice cream bar instead of food. We invited all of our extended family so we figured it was easier.

I made a burlap banner with "Happy Birthday" on it. I also did the banner underneath with a picture each month in the first year of his life. It was fun to look back at each month.

Had to have paper straws! :)

I made a little sock monkey shirt to go along with the theme. Can't see it too well I guess. I just cut it out on the silhouette and sewed it right on! :)

Not loving his birthday hat...

It was such a fun day! I can't believe he is already a year old!

Swimming!

Baby B loves water! I had this turtle swimming pool when I was little. I got it for my fist birthday and ate birthday cake in it. My mom gave it to Baby B for his first birthday and he ate cake in it too! Now we have it outside as a swimming pool for the summer!

Pretending to talk on the phone while swimming...

Trying to stand up in the pool...

It is so fun that he is getting to where he can do so much. I think there will be many more times of going outside to swim this summer!

My baby fish says to have a fun weekend!

Not a baby anymore...

I swear that Baby B changed overnight into a kid! He went to sleep a baby on his birthday and woke up the next day a kid! He is into everything and make far more messes and far more daring adventures. Man I thought he was busy but I don't think I knew what busy was! I know it sounds crazy but man he has been busy the last two days! :)

Now standing up to things like a pro and can stand there forever.

Try to pull all of the towels out of the bottom drawer before mom can catch him.

Forget sitting in the swimming pool, he'll try to stand instead!

Remote, phone and cup full of water. Sure I'll help myself to them.

Play with the radio... Sure!

He also in the last day has found the toilet, started standing up in crib and looking over the edge (you better believe we changed it to the lowest position as soon as Dallen got home!), open the changing table and start pulling things out as fast as you can. Man he is keeping me busy! And I'm afraid that once he walks it will be ten times more busy! He is at such a fun stage! Now if I could just keep up with him! :)

Happy Birthday Baby B!

Today is Baby B's first birthday! I can't believe how big he has gotten in the last year. I have loved every second of it and love his fun personality!

We are off celebrating and getting ready for his sock monkey party! Be back tomorrow!

Happy Birthday little guy! :)

Old window redo

My uncle had given me a few old window frames and I had been trying to decide what to do with them. One I ended up doing a family subway art with words all about our family(don't really know how to post it and show you where it has our address, town, first and last names etc. Maybe I'll post a list of what I did or something.) Anyways... The second one I decided to turn into a collage of Baby B's pictures. He is turning one tomorrow and it is so crazy how fast the last year has gone and how much he has grown. So I saw this quote- "In photos babies stay babies forever" and loved it. A few of my friends have also done things in their house with the same idea and quote. So here is the final project. Makes me realize how big Baby B has gotten!

Have a great day! :)

Sugared Popcorn and Easter cards

For our family, I make a card from Baby B each holiday. For easter this is what I did.

I used craft paint and made thumb prints on a piece of paper and made them into bunnies after they dried. (Trying to get thumb prints from a 9 month old is near impossible!) For the writing on the card, I used my Silhouette and used the Sketch Pens. It was so fun! The ears I just found at the dollar store. To go with it I decided to make some popcorn that in springy colors. I had a fun recipe for Sugared Popcorn in one of my recipe books and decided to try it out.

Sugared popcorn
1 stick butter (real butter)
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp salt
food coloring
1 tsp flavoring (I did 1 tsp and it had tons of flavor, so if you dont want a lot then try less and taste to see if you want more.)

Bring all of the ingredients to a boil over medium heat and boil for 2 minutes. Remove and pour over popcorn. I used my air popper and did a cup of popcorn.(A cup before popped) If you are popping bags I think 2-3 would be about the right amount. Coat all of the popcorn and let cool. (I put my popcorn in a big bowl and coated it in there and then poured it on a cookie sheet to let it cool faster) This is a really quick and easy recipe!

I did pink and flavored it raspberry cheesecake and turquoise and flavored it tutti frutti. I think they turned out fun!

I think were about set for Easter now! off to get working on the bunny veggie tray.

First Easter egg hunt and Easter food idea

Hello today! This morning was our baby's first Easter Egg Hunt! He wasn't quite sure what to do, but loved picking up the bright eggs! Who needs a rattle when you have an egg with candy in it?!

Okay maybe he didn't find quite that many... He may have taken the empty eggs from everyone else to take a picture.

For Easter I am going to make this veggie rabbit for our family party. I saw it on Studio 5 (A crafty show that comes on each day in Utah) the other day and thought it was so cute! I decided there would be no point posting it Sunday because it wouldn't give anyone time to make it if they wanted to. So I figured show the link today so anyone who wants to make it can and I will post a picture of the one I made when its done! I am using white bread dough instead though...

I think it will be soemthing fun and different! Another post coming later on a fun popcorn idea for Easter...
